Damn it feels good to be alive!
Today I would like to share a video with you, this video is Part 1 of a 15 video series on The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ DeMarco.
I highly encourage you to check out this book, I am creating this video series as a resource to extend my knowledge and the knowledge of my readers. But remember knowledge is not power, it is only potential power.
Action is power! Massive action is MASSIVE power!
With that idea reinforced, let’s dive right into it with the video and supporting notes below:
Chapter 1 – The Great Deception
a) “If you want to get rich and “Get Rich Slow” is your strategy, I have bad news. It’s a losing game, with your time wagered as the gamble.”
b) “Show me a 22-year-old who got rich investing in mutual funds, or clipping coupons, or saving 10-15% every paycheck at some dead-end job.”
c) “The message of ‘Get Rich Slow’ is clear: Sacrifice your today, your dreams, and your life for a plan that pays dividends after most of your life has evaporated.”
d) Believing that old age is a precursor to retirement is the real BS.
e) “Get Rich Slow” demands a life-long commitment of gainful employment.
After introducing the reader to the various beliefs of the slowlaners, DeMarco shares a bit of his personal story in:
Chapter 2 – How I Screwed “Get Rich Slow”
a) “’Wealth + youth’ was an equation that didn’t compute simply because I didn’t have the physical capabilities.”
b) Story of the Lamborghini Countach
c) “The owner kindly responded: ‘I’m an inventor’.”
d) “I left awakened as a neural pathway suddenly smacked open in my brain.”
e) “Fast wealth is created exponentially, not linearly.”
f) The birth of the money tree.
“Mom convinced me it was true. “We can’t afford that, do you think money grows on trees?”
“She was wrong. Money grows on trees if you own a money tree. And, you can own one if you know how and where to get the seeds. Money trees are business systems that survive on their own.”
DeMarco continues to plant seeds of curiosity and open-mindedness in the next chapter which is:
Chapter 3 – The Road Trip To Wealth
a) “Wealth Is a Road Trip, Not Just a Road!”
b) The “boozed up college kids” and their awesome trip.
“Unfortunately, preoccupied with the destination, we failed to address the journey and the vehicle that we relied on to get us there.”
c) “Your pursuit of wealth stalls when your focus is on the road and its destination, and not the road trip”.
d) “When you disregard critical road trip components, gas is squandered, and decade-long detours are encountered. When your focus is only on the road, your journey is likely to stall and dreamy destinations never arrive.”
e) “Millionaires Are Forged by Process, Not by Events.”
f) “Wealth eludes most people because they are preoccupied with events while disregarding process. Without process, there is no event!”
g) The life road options are The Sidewalk, The Slowlane, and The Fastlane.
h) “To seek a ‘wealth chauffeur’ is to seek a surrogate for process. Process cannot be outsourced, because process dawns wisdom, personal growth, strength, and events.”
This concludes my study of the first 3 chapters of The Millionaire Fastlane, thank you for following along!
Please take action with the wisdom you have and let this post serve as a reminder of the creativity and motivation that can be unlocked when great books are discovered!
